About Me

I am a freelance Artist and Illustrator, living a simple, happy life in Suffolk with my family and other boisterous animals!
I have an old ramshackle garden shed, full of precious books, pictures and little curiosities! Here is where I begin, with the usual rituals- a large cup of tea, radio on, dog settled at my feet, often a cat, or two....
I have always had a love of stories and books, exploring folklore, fantasy, myths and legends. They are a never ending source of curiosity and excitement.
Animals have also been an important part of my life. The relationship we have with animals has always been a big inspiration for my work. I am particularly interested in everyday folk, the lives they share with animals, the traditions, customs and tales that have entwined them, some long forgotten…In recent years, wood-burning (Pyrography) has been a total joy for me. I love the warm woody sepia tones, and indulgent detail I can create with this wonderful method.
Happiness is getting lost in pattern, fur, feathers, a face, not just in my own artwork but the tiny details of life!
Please feel free to contact me about potential commissions,  questions or thoughts about my artwork. I am happy to discuss any ideas or proposals.
